ORIGAMI LILY OF THE VALLEY
These are instructions for making a very cute origami lily of the valley.
Step 1:
This paper is for the tiny flowers.
The size is 1,5x1,5 inch or 4x4 centimeters.
Make a valley-fold over these 2 lines.
Unfold each fold after you've made one.
Step 2:
Make a valley-fold over these 4 lines.
Step 3:
Fold the 4 corners back to the outside of the model by
making a valley-fold over these lines.
Step 4:
All 8 ends are of equal size.
Fold the model in half over this line.
Step 5:
Pull the 2 corners at the pink dots towards each other,
in the direction of the yellow arrows.
Then lay the piece at the pink dot on the left over the
backside of the piece indicated by the dot on the right.
Step 6:
Hold the model the same as I do in this picture.
Make a valley-fold on the bottom of the flower, see
the yellow arrow.
Step 7:
Make another valley-fold on the bottom of the flower.
You actually just roll a piece of the bottom of the flower up
in step 6 and 7.
Step 8:
First, press a piece of the bottom of the flower inwards,
see the smaller arrow.
Then press on the bottom from aside with two fingers,
see the 2 large arrows.
The model won't open by itself anymore after you've made
the folds from step 6 to 8.
Step 9:
This is the bottom of the flower.
Curl or press each petal (see arrows) a little bit downwards.
Step 10:
One flower is done...
Make about 20 of these flowers for one complete arrangement.
Step 11:
Make 5 of these leaves.
Click here to see diagrams for making these leaves
I used papers of 6x6 inch or 15x15 centimeters for making
these leaves.
Step 12:
Make 2 stems of about 7 inch or 17 centimeters and one
stem of 5,5 inch or 14 centimeters.
Click here to see instructions for making a stem
If your stem is to thick, just fold it in half over the length
one more time.
Step 13:
Make a tiny stem like this one for each flower.
Click here to see diagrams for making a tiny stem
I used papers of 1x1 inch or 2,5x2,5 centimeters to make
these stems.
Step 14:
Fold the end
of a tiny stem downwards and add a little glue
to the piece you've folded downwards.
Then glue the bottom of a flower to this piece.
Step 15:
Bend or curl the stem a little, see yellow arrows.
Step 16:
Add a little glue to the bottom of the tiny stem and glue
it to the large stem, see arrow on the left.
Glue about 6 or 7 tiny stems with flower to the larger stem.
Let the flowers hang downwards a little, by curling each
tiny stem.
Step 17:
Make 3 of these flowering tops for one complete arrangement.
Step 18:
The 3 flowering tops are placed in a pot filled with foam.
The pot I've used is 3 inch or 7 centimeters in height.
The leaves are placed in the foam too, around the flowering tops.
Finally, I placed origami sand on top of the foam, to cover it.
Click here for instructions to make the origami sand.
The lily of the valley is ready!
