ADVANCED ORIGAMI PANDA
I designed this panda with complete white paper first, because I wanted that it looked
good without patterned paper too.
Step 1:
The backside of the paper is completely white.
Prefold over these 4 lines.
Step 2:
Make a valley-fold over these 2 lines.
Step 3:
Make a mountain-fold over these 2 lines.
Step 4:
Turn the model.
Step 5:
Make a valley-fold over the 2 lines at the bottom-right.
Then, make a mountain-fold over the 2 lines in the middle.
And make a valley-fold over the 2 lines at the
top-left.
Step 6:
Fold the flap indicated by the arrow upwards by making
a valley-fold over the green line.
Step 7:
Hold the flap between two fingers, see large arrows.
Then press it flat from above with your other hand,
see small arrow.
Step 8:
Make a valley-fold over these 2 lines.
Step 9:
Unfold the folds of step 8.
Step 10:
Pull the edge indicated by the arrow downwards by
making a valley-fold over the green line.
Step 11:
Press the edges downwards from above, see arrows.
Step 12:
Fold the triangular piece upwards by making a valley-fold
over the green line.
Step 13:
Repeat steps 7 to 12 on the other 3 flaps.
Step 14:
Pull the 2 ends at the bottom of the arrows outwards,
in the direction of these arrows.
Step 15:
Fold the triangular piece to the inside of the model
by making a mountain-fold over this line.
Step 16:
Push the 2 ends towards each other again, see arrows.
Step 17:
Repeat steps 14 to 16 on the other 3 triangular pieces.
Step 18:
Fold 2 layers on the right of the green line to the left
by making valley-folds over this line.
Step 19:
Fold the pieces on the right and left of the green line
upwards by making a valley-fold over this line.

Step 20:
Pull the extra upper layer of paper loose from the rest
of the model, start pulling at the bottom of the edge,
see arrows.

Step 21:
Make a valley-fold over these (prefolded) lines.
Step 22:
Now you've made an extra end. Fold this end upwards
by making a valley-fold over this line.
Step 23:
Make sure that there's an equal amount of flaps on the
left and right now.
Then, repeat steps 19 to 22 one more time on the
backside of the model.
Step 24:
Fold the piece on the right of the green line to the left
by making a valley-fold over this line.
Step 25:
Make a valley-fold over this line. Make a mountain-fold
on the same
place at the flap below this one.
Repeat these folds on the other side of the model.
Step 26:
Prefold over this line.
(Fold the tip of the model to the line between the 2 arrows)
Step 27:
Open the model by pulling the 4 larger ends outwards,
see arrows.
Step 28:
Fold the center of the model downwards by making
mountain-folds over these lines, they are prefolded
in step 26
Step 29:
Push the model flat from aside, see arrows.
Step 30:
Pull the end indicated by the arrow upwards.
Step 31:
Make a mountain-fold over this line

Step 32:
Hold the model in one hand on the place indicated
by the yellow dot.
Then pull the end to the left with your other hand, in
the direction
of the large arrow. This is to reveal the paper
under the edge indicated by the smaller arrow.
Step 33:
Push the head flat and downwards, see arrow.
Do this by making folds over the green lines, make the
same folds on the other side of the head.
(a
mountain-fold is made over the yellow line while you do this)
Step 34:
Push the line indicated by the arrow inwards, do this
by making folds over the green lines. Make the same
folds on the other side of the head.
Step 35:
Now the model looks like this.
Step 36:
Pull the layer of paper below on the head outwards,
use the yellow lines as guidance.
Press the head flat between your fingers after you've
done this.
Step 37:
Make a mountain-fold over this line, fold the tip to the
line indicated by the upper arrow.
Step 38:
Fold over these 3 lines.
Step 39:
Push the edges indicated by the 2 arrows towards each
other between your fingers.
Do the same on the other side of the head.
Step 40:
Now the head looks like this.
Step 41:
Pull the end indicated by the arrow upwards.
Step 42:
Pull the layer of paper indicated by the arrow outwards,
do the same on the other side of the model.
Step 43:
Fold over these 3 lines.

Step 44:
Fold the paper layers of step 42 to the inside of the
model again, see arrows. Do the same on the other
side of the model. No new folding lines need to be made
to do this.
Step 45:
Make a mountain-fold over this line, fold the tip of the
tail to the line indicated by the arrow on the left.

Step 46:
Press the tail flat from aside, see arrows

Step 47:
Hold the leg between two fingers on the place indicated
by the yellow dot. Then press the tip of the leg upwards
with your other hand, against the fingers which are holding
the leg.
Do the same on the other 3 legs.
Finally push the model outwards from the inside, to
make
it look more 3d and less flat.
Done!
