HOW TO FOLD A FLOWER
I made the pattern for this paper by hand with color pencils. You get a little brighter
pattern then normal when you use color pencils.
Step 1:
This is the front of the paper. The backside is completely red.
Make mountain-and valley-folds over these 4 lines.
Unfold each fold after you made one.
Step 2:
Make a valley-fold over these 4 lines.
Step 3:
Fold the ends back to the outside of the model by making
a valley-fold over these 4 lines.
Step 4:
Make these folds from the edge of the model to the center,
not any further.
First, make a valley-fold over the 2 lines below. Then, make
a mountain-fold over the 2 lines in the middle. And make
a valley-fold over the 2 lines on top.
Now you get a sort of basic-shape.
Step 5:
Prefold the model over this line.
Step 6:
Unfold the model until it looks like the figure of step 4.
(In the picture of step 7 the yellow center is on the other side).
Step 7:
Now the center of the model has to be folded downwards,
by making a mountain-fold over these 4 lines.
Hold the model on the edge with one hand. Then make the
mountain-folds one by one with your other hand.
These folds are already prefolded in step 5.
Step 8:
Here a part of the folds from step 7 is already done.
Step 9:
Make mountain and valley-folds over these 6 lines. The 2 shortest
lines are the mountain-folds. These 6 lines are already prefolded.
Make these folds by first pressing on the model at the places
indicated with the 2 smaller arrows and then pressing on the
places indicated with the large arrows.
Step 10:
The model looks like this from above.
In the middle is the yellow center that you've folded down
in step 7 to 9.
Step 11:
Fold the petal downwards by making an inside reverse fold over
these 3 lines. Do this by making a mountain-fold over the line
in the middle and a valley-fold over the other 2 lines.
The 2 ends at the smaller arrows are pulled towards each other
when you make these folds.
Step 12:
This arrow indicates the same end that is indicated with the
large arrow in step 11.
Repeat step 11 on the other 3 same petals.
Step 13:
Now the model looks like this from above.
Step 14:
Make a valley-fold over this line. Make this fold over all layers
of the petal.
Do the same as above on the other 3 petals.
Step 15:
Press on the edges from above on the places indicated with
the 4 arrows.
You get a nice full yellow center after you've done
this.
The flower is ready!
