ORIGAMI SUMMER HAT
The paper I used for this summer hat is completely white, but you can use any colour
or patterned paper you like to fold this hat.
Step 1:
Make mountain- and valley-folds over these 4 lines.
Unfold each fold after you've made one.
Step 2:
Pull the corner indicated by the arrow on the left to the
corner indicated by the arrow on the right.
Do this by making a valley-fold over the line on the right
and a mountain-fold over the line on the left.
These lines are already prefolded in step 1.
Step 3:
Fold the end of the loose piece to the left by making
a valley-fold over the blue line. Make this fold over both
layers of the loose piece.
Step 4:
Fold the loose piece, see arrow, to the left by making
a valley-fold over the blue line.
Step 5:
Make a valley-fold over these 3 lines.
Step 6:
Make a valley-fold over these 6 lines.
The folds of step 5 and 6 are to make the hat more round.
Step 7:
Hold the model the same as I do in this picture.
Press the bottom of the model downwards with your other
hand, see arrow. The model won't open while you do this,
because your thumb holds the open edge on place.
Step 8:
Press the bottom a little further downwards on the edges,
see arrows.
Step 9:
Turn the model.
Step 10:
Hold the model the same as I do in this picture.
Push or pull the edge downwards on several places with
your other hand, see arrows.
It's no problemm if the model wrinkles on some places
while you do this.
Step 11:
Lay the model on the table and press the edge flat from
above, see arrows.
Make sure the wrinkled places are pressed flat too.
Step 12:
Hold the model the same as I do in this picture.
Pull the edge of the hat downwards on some places
with your other hand, see arrows as example.
Finally, press the top of the hat flat a little bit.
The summer hat is ready!
