ORIGAMI SUNFLOWER
Both sides of the square piece of paper are coloured.
Step 1:
This is the front of the paper. The backside is completely yellow.
Make mountain- and valley-folds over these 4 lines. Unfold each
fold after you've made one.
Step 2:
Make a valley-fold over these 4 lines.
Step 3:
Make a valley-fold over these 4 lines.
Step 4:
All 8 ends have to be of equal size.
Make a valley-fold over these 4 lines. Unfold each fold after
you've made one.
Step 5:
Make these folds from the edge of the model to the center, not
any further. First, make a valley-fold over the 2 lines at the pink
arrows. Then, make a mountain-fold over the lines next to the
first ones. Continue making valley- and mountain-fold until the
2 lines on top, on the right.
You get a sort of basic shape after you've done this.
Step 6:
Prefold the model over this line.
Then, unfold the model until it has the same shape as in step 5.
Step 7:
Here the model has the same shape as it had in step 5, but now
it's turned upside down.
Fold the center of the model down by making mountain-folds over
these lines. These lines are already prefolded in step 6.
You don't have to make new folding lines until step 10.
Step 8:
Here a part of the center is already folded down.
From here you only need to push the model from the outside
back in the shape it had in step 6, but now with the center
folded downwards.
Step 9:
Here the folds from step 7 are almost done.
Step 10:
Here the model has the same shape as it had in step 6, but now
with the center folded downwards.
Fold the piece below the green line upwards by making
a valley-fold over this green line.
Do the same as above on the backside of the model.
Step 11:
Fold the piece on the right of the green line to the left by making
a valley-fold over this green line (=bookfold).
Step 12:
Fold the piece below the green line upwards by making a
valley-fold over this green line.
Repeat step 11 and 12 on the backside of the model.
Repeat step 11 and 12 two more times, so every loose piece
is standing upwards.
Step 13:
Make an inside reverse fold over these 3 lines. Do this by making
a mountain-fold over the line in the middle and a valley-fold over
the other 2 lines.
The ends indicated by the 2 smaller arrows are pulled towards
each other when you make these folds. And the end indicated by
the large arrow will stand upwards.
Step 14:
The end at the large arrow in step 13 is indicated by the large
arrow in this picture too.
Repeat step 13 on the other 7 same pieces, see the smaller arrows.
Step 15:
Push on the brown center from below, to make it bigger, see
the picture of step 16.
Step 16:
Now the model looks like this. Turn the model.
Step 17:
Press the edges indicated by the 2 arrows against each other
and lock them together by making a mountain-fold over the
green line.
Step 18:
At the arrow is the piece you've folded downwards in step 17.
Repeat step 17 on the other 7 same places of the model.
Step 19:
Now the model looks like this. Turn the model again.

Step 20:
Make the end on the right in this picture flat by pressing on it
from above and below, see the 2 arrows.
Do the same as above on every end of the model.
The origami sunflower is ready :-)
